Elaine Stritch made me cry!

Miss Stritch made just about everybody at Café Carlyle cry. I was expecting funny as hell, and of course, she delivered on that. But to hear her sing Ladies Who Lunch six feet away from me was just too much. It didn't help hearing the story about losing her husband John Bay, who she didn't marry until later in life. But oh my God, what a performer she is. Her energy is astounding as is her timing. I've never had such an expensive evening but I think it was quite a bargain for what we got.

Here's to the ladies who take in Elaine Stritch. There is no one like Stritchy.
