Calendar is Set; Ticket Scramble Approaching

Single tickets for the Met Opera go on sale on August 17th. Single tickets for Carnegie Hall go on sale around September 2nd. The Met sent out a wonderful season calendar that made our planning so much easier this year. The only problem is that after May 9th, the final day of performances at the Met, time stops at the opera house. Fortunately, there are a few more dates at Carnegie after that, but time does sort of stop. Here I am already worried about what in the world I'll do for entertainment next summer. Sigh. Wait! We are in talks to see Patricia Racette in The Letter at the Santa Fe Opera! And we might have to hit Ravinia too. Whew.

Oh, my goodness! You have a pretty eventful season planned. I'm rather envious, honestly. I'm moving, apparently, to Montreal rather than Massachusetts, so that makes getting down to the NY area a bit trickier. Mind you, Montreal has a theatre scene that is by no means lacklustre, and is very close to Toronto, so I'll survive.

Apropos of nothing: I started a theatre blog! I'm trying to get some word out, despite the fact that there's not much to write about at the moment. thedorianmode.blogspot.com

I've had Patti and Mandy on my calendar for months! Hahaa - I was so excited that they were coming to New Jersey!

Nice list, by the way!

Yeah, Susan Graham is definitely a highlight. Wish Joyce DiDonato would tour more in the U.S., though. Do you have advance word of what's going on at Ravinia in 2009?
