Yesterday: The Play

I do not recommend seeing a Wednesday matinee. No offense to my older friends, but a theatre full of geriatrics bused in via bridge and tunnel is not always a good thing...the concentration of hearing aides, buzzing feedback from the infrared hearing devices and the loud talking throughout was almost enough to distract me...BUT I am glad that I took a very long lunch break to see The History Boys. It was more than worth it to come back to the office to make up the time.

So, let me tell you, this play was BLOODY BRILLIANT. The story is fantastic, the acting was superb, it was funny as hell but also sweet and even sad. It was innovative and simply perfect. That's all you need to know. I already bought the libretto and read it cover to cover. I'm not giving anything away because you really must see it yourself. Hurry, it's closing in October...fortunately, if you miss it on the stage, you can see it on the silver screen in October.

Oh yeah, if I get a chance, I'm going again...but not to the Wednesday matinee.
