To Good to Be True

I thought "this is too good to be true". But it was true. I was in Paris for the first time and seeing two legends in concert. I was fulfilling the dream of travel and the dream of traveling to see concerts. Two birds with one stone. On Saturday night, I found myself in the beautiful Theatre des Champs-Elysees in Paris watching Dame Kiri te Kanawa and Frederica von Stade in concert. The sound of their rich voices wrapped up in beautiful packages was a perfect present to my senses. I had known about Kiri sense I was in junior high - I saw her perform at Princess Diana's wedding and I remember her appearing on the Johnny Carson show as well. I learned about Frederica sometime over the last few years. In May, I had the great pleasure of seeing them both perform at the Volpe Gala. I had already planned to travel to Paris in October and when I heard of this concert, it just seemed the perfect icing on the cake. It was indeed. I am still having difficulty finding the words to describe the performance, but Khaleem describes it perfectly.
