A Fruity Faux Pas

Seems I have disappointed my loyal reader and purveyor of coolness in literature, music and drink: Karen is nonplussed with my enthusiasm over the French Martini. She wrote, "Martinis? Martinis! What's the deal now with pouring any old combination of liqueurs and fruit juices in a martini glass and calling it a martini? A martini is gin and vermouth with an olive or lemon twist. Period." Ah, but Karen doesn't stoop to mere criticism, she teaches: The Buñuel Martini . You're on, Karen. I'll do my best. But no shots, I don't care how cheap they are.
