My friend Maryann and I went to the Met this evening to purchase tickets to Jenufa. It was pre-performance of Il Barbiere di Siviglia and well-heeled patrons were beginning to arrive...as we were leaving, we passed Broadway legend Ben Gazzara all tuxed up with a beauty queen on his arm. Oh, he's old but he's still worthy of my swoon.
We then headed to the favorite watering hole O'Neal's and Opera Hunk René Pape was outside talking on his cell phone. He's even hunkier from three feet away than he is from three hundred feet away in the family circle at the Met. Oh yeah, I swooned right there on the sidewalk.
