I feel like I struck gold this morning when I logged on to renew my Met subscription. I went to look at the details for my usual option (Monday evening) and was greeted with the primas for Il Trovatore and La Sonnambula, along with Netrebko's first Lucia and the fabulously cast (at least on the female side) Gioconda. I'll probably exchange my weakly cast subscription Don G (Schrott and Iveri, double yuck) for one of those great sounding April performances (Langree conducting Frittoli, Mattei, Isokowski and Bayrakdarian...talk about embarrassment of wishes).

#1 on my wishlist right now is the free Requiem with Levine conducting Frittoli, Borodina, Giordani and Morris. God only knows how early one will have to wake up and get in line to secure those free tix.

Embarrassment of riches, not wishes. Don't know what I was thinking when I typed that.

I see Rigoletto on the list. I believe that was your first opera. What a fateful trip that was for me to come to NYC. The beginning of many things....

Cameron - Since Sally and I decided to try for single tickets this year instead of a subscription, I think mine IS an embarrasment of wishes.
