Little Love took me to see Jason Robert Brown's new musical 13 on Broadway last night. It's a new show about the tween angst of a bunch of 13 year olds on the verge of adulthood. Little Love is closer to age 13 than I've been in a very long time, but I have to admit I was carried back to junior high just a little bit. Besides being surrounded by tweens and teens (ew, that smell of teen spirit!), it wasn't hard to get carried at least a little way back. It was a pleasure to be in an audience that was so genuinely moved by the action and drama on stage - lots of gasps and awwww's at totally appropriate moments. The music and choreography are downright fun and the energy level is definitely high. The cast and the band are all 13 year olds which is definitely clever and they sell the story well. It's short and sweet and definitely good time.
