Kari told me to do it too

Here I am in my senior year in 1986. Look at me: small and oh so innocent, with tan arms and pixie hair with waves that were achieved with curling iron because that's before my hair turned curly! I am posting in solidarity with RivB because we do what Kari tells us to do. Or else. What's the point? Writer Tayari Jones , in support of Girls Write Now, a creative writing and mentoring organization for high school girls, posted:

This won't come as a surprise, but changing the world costs money. If you can send a donation to GWN, let me know and I'll match you, dollar for dollar. I know money is tight this year, so here is another way you can participate. If you send me a photo of the teenage you, I'll give $5 to GWN. If you post it on your blog and spread the word about this amazing organization, I'll give $10.

Now, I don't want the $10 for myself: I want it to go directly to GWN. I hope you'll help out by giving what you can and by spreading the word.

Thanks for the heads up, Kari.

What a cutie! And I like how you make me sound like some kind of dark overlord. All for the good of mankind...
