I hear you on GRUMPY... As of my last count there are about 45 shows in development (that I know of) based on a film, book or comic strip. There are also 26 revivals and a dozen or so biomusicals. So that is a little over 80 shows in development based on previously published/performed works or previously lived lives vs. a whopping 18 original works. Sad, sad, sad.
"The theatre can do things that you can't legislate, or preach, or make laws about. The theatre can do this thing of getting in, into your heart." ~George Hearn, Words and Music by Jerry Herman

He's involved with the workshop of the musical adaptation of GRUMPY OLD MEN, so perhaps he'll be back to Broadway sooner than later.
Beggars can't be choosers, but I'd settle for just about anything other than Grumpy Old Men. Yuck.

This Grumpy Old Man (GOM vs. SOB?!) is thinking of charging royalties for that picture. It's so wonderful.
