Evita on Broadway

I finally saw Evita on Broadway on Tuesday night.    I initially couldn't wait to see this revival: come on,  Michael Cerveris is one of the stars!  But then I heard from friends that the leading lady's voice is dubious and that the other star was just okay, so I decided I could wait, not really wanting to pay top dollar for this consistently sold out show.   Apparently, and luckily for me, the other star is the one who is apparently drawing in the most audience members and thanks to his vacation this week, I scored a GoldClub ticket.  I have to say that I actually LOVED the production and despite the leading lady's, shall we say odd, voice, I was captivated, chilled and thrilled every moment.  The lighting and scenery is gorgeous and Rob Ashford's choreography is breathtaking.  And no surprise, Michael Cerveris was better than I knew he would be.

I'm also changing my name to Sarita.

Love this, Sarita! I'm happy to have discovered your blog. Congrats on your ten years in NYC, the place I should be living, but am not due to family obligations. Family first, for me. I do get to come to NYC occasionally to see shows. I've bookmarked your page, and look forward to reading more of your posts.
All best, Sandra in Portland, Oregon.

Hi Sandra! Thanks for stopping in. Maybe one day you'll get there - if even for an extended visit. The hardest part of living here is being so far away from my family - fortunately, they love it that I'm here. Best! SarahB aka Sarita :)
