I've gone on and on about Michael John LaChiusa before I can't help myself. I find his work completely fascinating, challenging, emotional, joyful... His intricate scores and lyrics are intoxicating and demanding. Little Fish made me laugh - oh, I laughed - and I could relate to it. It was all about connection - with friends, with yourself. Sixth eighths of the original off-Broadway cast performed in tonight's benefit performance at Joe's Pub and was supplemented by some newcomers. A better singing cast could simply not be served up. My only complaint - it ended. The highlight of the evening - I was introduced to Michael John. More, MJLC, I want more.
