So, it's not the Met's season finale, but it is my last Met opera of the season. It's been a brilliant one of discovery, fun intensity, grandness, and many, many beautiful voices. Tonight it's my first Turandot.
What a way to end my season! Grandiosity! Tragedy! Triumph! The Met's production of Turandot is what you expect a Met production to be. The Zeffirelli was all that I expected it to be - definitely his most gorgeous and ambitious. The house was packed and I could certainly understand why. Puccini's music was familiar and delivered nicely by Erika SunnegÄrdh, Liping Zhang, and Richard Margison. It was just a great entertaining evening at the opera and really, that's why I go and keep going back for more.

Turandot is my favorite opera ever!!! I'm jealous, because I've never seen it live...
