Tonight: I'm going in for another crack at Curtains. After seeing it in June I vowed that I wouldn't see it again unless somebody buys me a ticket. Well, Robin bought me a ticket so who am I to go against my own vow? It will give me a chance to see if my first impression still holds or if I was just cranky from the antics of the misbehaving matinee crowd.
Update: Second time around equals twice as nice. I enjoyed it thoroughly. It didn't feel like it dragged during the "show within a show" parts and the audience was almost 100% better (except for the lady from LonGiland sitting beside me who felt it necessary to express her amusement out loud with words and to repeat most of the lines to her husband). I have to admit that the book is quite funny as are the lyrics and I found myself laughing out loud. I also was able to tell Debra Monk how much I enjoyed her "I'm Still Here" at Wall to Wall Sondheim, to which she responded, "Oh thank you! I was so scared that day. There was Sondheim right there in front. I was so nervous."

Glad you gave it a second chance, although I'm sorry about that lady behind you....
