OH Met Opera, How I miss thee...

The 2008/09 season at the Metropolitan Opera is still months away and I'm pining for it already. Of course, I'm busy planning, scheming and charting my season ticket schedule as we speak. In the meantime, there's a great behind the scenes look at the Met on Martha Stewart's website. You'll feel like you're on the Guild's backstage tour with her, almost. And if you think that opera is only stand and deliver, tune in to your local PBS station this Thursday night to catch Natalie Dessay, Felicity Palmer, Juan Diego Flórez, Alessandro Corbelli, and Marian Seldes (in her Met debut) in the Great Performances at theMet broadcast of La Fille du Règiment. It's full of comedy, incredible singing, and great acting. It's truly grand opera at its best.

That video was fascinating, and makes me want to attend opera!

My satellite tv carries the worst PBS stations. Neither one has this program. Darn! I'll keep checking. Maybe they'll air it someday. And the backstage tour is awesome. I loved it!

One of the most joyous days I've spent at the opera ;)

Thank you, Lady Iris!
