Bastille Day and a Tram Trip across the East River

I went to the Bastille Day Celebration on La Rue Soixantième D'est today. Viva la Révolution! Then I rode the Roosevelt Island Tram just for the heck of it. I got home just in time to watch The Young Girls of Rochefort (Les Demoiselles de Rochefort), the 1967 French musical film on IFC. Voilà!

"We're two twins born under the sign of Gemini." (to Michel Legrand music)

There are times when that riff pops into my head all these years later.

Libertie! Egalitie! Fraternitie!

Oh, Lord, I just noticed in one of your photos--a street mime. Heaven preserve us!

I was at the Bastille Day celebration, too! And I was also contemplating a trip on the Roosevelt Island tram, but opted to cross the Brooklyn Bridge instead. Keep your eye on my blog in the next couple of days for pics and comments.

Wasn't it a great day to be in the city? :)
