I've got the feeling that time is halted

It's today! But last night the candles were lit, the ice was out, the rug was rolled up at the Broadway Lounge. My work pals threw me the big party along with a "Jessica Fletcher" birthday card stuffed with enough cash for a couple of show tickets! Do they know me or what? So why the extra special treatment? Darlings, I'm FORTY today! But I have no fear of that number because my dear Marian said, "80 is the new 40, you know." So, I figure that really makes me ZERO! The only problem this morning, after all those doubles last night, is that instead of feeling as young as Mame, I feel more like Vera Charles and my goodness, that moon is bright!

I'd like two straws and a double-malted!

Better yet, two Mojitos and no straws.

Happy Happy!

Happy Birthday, Sarah.

Here's to the next 40 years in the endless pursuit of entertainment. Catch your breath, it's going to be one heck of ride!

So I wish you first a
Sense of theatre; only
Those who love illusion
And know it will go far:
Otherwise we spend our
Lives in a confusion
Of what we say and do with
Who we really are.

Therefore let your birthday
Be a wild occasion
Like a Saturnalia
Or a Servants' Ball.

What else shall I wish you?

That is all that I can
Think of at this moment
And it's time I brought these
Verses to a close:
Happy Birthday, Sarah,
Live beyond your income,
Travel for enjoyment,
Follow your own nose.

Many Happy Returns

I like that:
"Live beyond your income," that's good! My kind of thinking...

80 is the new 40. Well thank god, I'm glad to hear that! That makes me only 36 ! I'm thrilled, and you should be too, you baby!

Starting at 0. Today is the first day of the rest of your life, and even though the moon seems bright,
YOU are the one that's bright.
