Saturday in New York City

First there was the mandatory stop at Lincoln Center for the weekly library trip. We checked out the Francesco Clemente exhibit of the Sopranos in the GalleryMet. Uh, I don't know about these paintings. Whatev. The Met was hopping - the dress rehearsal of La Giocanda was today. We ran into my neighbor whose daughter is in the Children's Chorus. She's singing in Giocanda and Damnation of Faust this season. Then it was onto the Performing Arts Library. I picked up my pre-requested items - Westside Story and three plays by Noel Coward: Blithe Spirit, Hay Fever and Private Lives. We headed downstairs to the Vincent Astor Gallery to catch the exhibit, 100 Years of Music, Musicians and the National Pastime. It runs through October 31st. No stop at Lincoln Center is complete without stopping across the street at O'Neal's where Mom joined me in some nector, i.e. bloody marys. After imbibing, we headed downtown on the M7 to Madison Square Park where we stumbled upon a dog show of sorts. We rounded off the afternoon with a stop at the birthplace of our 26th President, Teddy Roosevelt.

Such a sunny day to be out and about! So much to do, so much to see. Nice pic of Mom! I've been to O'Neal's, terrific bar. Guess I'll have to make my trip much longer than a few days! Need a LOT more time...

What a wonderful day in New York. I'm so jealous of mom! But I'm happy for her, too.
