Ticket Panic Update

Update on tickets for Deuce: I talked to Elliot Fox who is the Managing Director at Primary Stages. He expressed his disappointment and thanked me for my understanding. I didn't whine, curse or cry, although I felt like it. Apparently, Primary Stages is completely out, having been ousted by the commercial producers Scott Rudin, Stuart Thompson and Maberry Theatricals. Of course, tickets for Deuce go on sale in advance this Sunday the 14th to American Express cardholders. I wouldn't be offended if anybody was take to pity on me and enable my ticket/diva habit. Pretty Pleeeeeaaaaaassseeee!

WTF...and The Ticket Panic Begins

In the whiniest voice I can summon, "But I only bought the subscription just so I would have dibs on a ticket to Deuce! WTF?!"

Tonight: A Play

Tonight: Southern Comforts at Primary Stages. This was the stage premier of Kathleen Clark's new one act play. Set in New Jersey, it's about a widow played by Penny Fuller and widower played by Larry Keith who meet innocently enough. She's a sweet, funny Southern Belle and he's a grumpy, acerbic Northerner. Seemingly opposites, they overcome their differences when they discover friendship and ultimately love. When he questions her ability to laugh so easily despite her tough life, she replies, "We laugh to keep from crying." She teaches him to finally face his feelings and the result is lovely. The play was sweetly delivered with humor and warmth. It was a perfect 90 minutes presented by Primary Stages at 59E59 Theatres.

Bonus sightings: Susan Blackwell of [title of show] was there and after, I saw Richard Kind outside of 59E59.
