Hypnotized on Broadway

New York is full of street players sharing all kinds of music. My favorite is called the Hypnotic Brass Ensemble. I first encountered them on Broadway around 47th street earlier this year. But lately, I've seen them further uptown on Broadway at Columbus Circle. Their cds are truly hypnotic and among my favorite. These aren't Broadway showtunes, baby, but driving and funky rhythms delivered by bright brass instruments - a trapset, four trumpets, two trombones and even a sousaphone. The New York Times thinks they are cool too - don't forget to watch The Times video.
