My friend Hughe was in town yesterday shooting red carpet pictures at the Drama Desk Awards. I had fun being his assistant and directing him on names so he could get good shots. Visit Hughe at Confessions of a Paparazzi to see who else he shot.

Jan Maxwell was nominated for Oustanding Featured Actress in a Play for Coram Boy.















Debra Monk, won the Outstanding Featured Actress in a Musical for Curtains!















Boyd Gaines, just announced as starring as Herbie in the City Center Encores! of Gypsy, won Oustanding Featured Actor in a Play for Journey's End.















Jason Danieley, one of the stars of Curtains, performed a gorgeous number from the show.















Alexander Gemignani with his girlfriend Erin Ortman, stars as Jean Valjean in the current revival of Les Miserables and performed "Bring Him Home". Gorgeous voice!















Linda Balgord was nominated Outstanding Featured Actress in a Musical for her role as Queen Elizabeth I in The Pirate Queen.















Andrea Burns, who is in the off-Broadway musical In the Heights. We heard her sing a terrific "Someone Woke Up" at Wall to Wall Sondheim.
