Tonight: Letterman

On my way to Carnegie last night, I ran into a Late Show intern. He asked me a trivia question in exchange for a ticket for tonight's taping: What's the color of Alan's hair. Come on. Challenge me a little at least. This will be my 9th taping, that is if I can manage to escape my office. Anywho, I'm sure BOF will be jealous.

Tonight's Guests: Kid Scientists, Natalie Portman, Kenna with Pharrell Williams and Chad Hugo

The kid scientists were a riot - one built a hover craft and Dave rode around on it, Natalie Portman wore a tiny dress and hair dark hair was swept up and adorned with a jeweled headband, Kenna with Pharrell Williams and Chad Hugo had a nice beat but I don't see myself buying their album. Dave was funny as hell and it was a blast as always. I stopped at Duane Reade after for some kitty litter and had to wait on line with Biff.

Sarah, Have fun. I loved my lone Letterman experience, even if the guest was rather dull.

Years ago, I was fortunate enough to snag a ticket to see Johnny Carson out in LA. I even had a chance to ask him a question during his pre-show warm-up. Something I'll never forget!

Yeah, it's always a blast. The first time BOF and I went was Thanksgiving Day 2001. We were on vacation here in NYC and watched the big parade across the street from the Ed Sullivan Theatre. After, we saw some kids with clipboards - I can't being resist being nosey about something that looks so official and sure enough, they were handing out tickets. I've been to Good Morning America and Regis & Kelly a couple of times. I've also been to Conan's a couple of times. His mother was a partner at my lawfirm and he came to a firm party we had. I yelled at him for having a crappy standby line that doesn't compare to Letterman's. He loved me for saying that and gave me his assistant's number, saying, "No more standby line for you." We had a great convo and by the next morning 1/2 the people in my firm wanted to be my best friend.

I'm in complete agreement. I loved my lone Letterman experience, too. It was my first time at a tv show taping. I hadn't even planned on doing it, but I was walking by the Ed Sullivan Theatre on a cold, dreary April morning and saw a sign that tickets were available. So I thought, what the heck, I can go to the Museum of Modern Art another time!

It really was a great experience, although I don't think I'd do it again, just because it takes up so much of the day, from waiting to find out if you've got a ticket, to picking up the ticket, to lining up an hour before the taping.

But when the announcer says, "From New York, the greatest city in the world, it's the Late Show with David Letterman!" wow, it was so exciting!

I even got on tv, when they panned the audience. My one second of fame! The guests were Kelly Ripa, who was very funny, and British actor Simon Pegg.

Hey Sarah, Sounds like a lot of fun.

You've been to GMA? I never knew they had a studio audience. Here's a piece of trivia I've never shared before. I've been a guest on GMA twice!
