I know you're shocked. But, it really is true. Before I even knew of Angela's Mame, there was Rosalind Russell'sAuntie Mame. Oh, how she inspired me! Today would have been Roz's 101st birthday.
Great clips. I always loved the great Roz. She had a style and demeanor so unique to her gender. She was constantly outwitting the men, and the women sometimes too.
Roz is beyond brillant and gorgeous too! I thoroughly enjoyed her film work (Auntie Mame and Trouble With Angels are my favorite) and her stage work (Wonderful Town!). Thanks for the reminder about her birthday.

This is an awesome clip. Thanks!
No one - NO ONE - will ever compare with Roz in this role. I mean, her line reading are burned into my brain.
"Spitting Distance!? ...how vivid."
I love that movie. Such a wonderful classic film.
Have you seen Rosalind Russell in the film version of "Gypsy"? It was my introduction to this gifted actress and show.
Oh Steve, did you forget who I am?
Roz would be 101. The film adaptation of "Auntie Mame" is 50 this year too.
Such a fun time.
It's my second favorite Roz performance, just narrowly coming in behind her Hildy Johnson in "His Girl Friday."
Kevin, we're just the opposite on this one.
I could never! You, you, you.
